Recently we got to see a glimpse of that third hope becoming reality. We connected with a young couple who are exploring entering the mission world and are interested in doing many of the same things we are doing. He is training to be a pilot, and she is studying to become a speech therapist. While searching online for missionary speech therapists, they came across our podcast.
That simple search led to a conversation where we were able to share some of our story, encourage them in their journey, and offer whatever advice we could. We were also encouraged from hearing their call to missions and the work of God in their lives too. It was a reminder to us that God often uses very ordinary things — even a small podcast recorded on our couch — to connect people and encourage them toward His work. You may even hear them on an upcoming episode.
Moments like that remind us that the podcast is quietly doing exactly what we hoped it might do. It helps us stay connected with you. It encourages others who are exploring missions. And someday it will serve as a time capsule that reminds our family where this journey began. But none of this would really exist without you.
Your prayers, encouragement, and partnership are the reason this story continues to unfold. When we record those conversations, we often think about the people who are listening — the friends, family, and partners who have walked with us from the beginning and continue to care about what God is doing through this calling.
